Her Unexpected Hero by Melody Anne the first in her Unexpected Heroes was a delightful surprise. Heat, secrets, and small-town charm made this contemporary romance a pleasure to read.
Melody Anne is a new to me author, and this series is a spin-off to her wildly successful Billionaire books. Don’t let that stop you from diving right in as I found myself perfectly at home.

Falling for Jillian by Kristen Proby is the third book in her Love Under the Big Sky series. I am happy to report that this heated contemporary works as a standalone. Falling for Jillian set in breathtakingly beautiful Montana had so many elements I enjoy; military men, small-town charm and a second chance romance. I chose to listen to this on audio and oh my..it was quite the experience.

This Heart of Mine by Brenda Novak is the eighth book in her Whiskey Creek series. I love small-town romances and I have always wanted to try one her novels. I was delighted that this worked as a standalone and was even more excited to meet Phoenix Fuller. An unusual heroine and a second chance romance gave me all the feels.

Do you like old school horror? Nick Cutter brings that dark grittiness to his story. The Deep is a spine-tingling, breath-holding horror story that had me in awe even as I cringed. I listened to this on audio and Corey Brill’s narration made the protagonist’s fear seep into my bones.
