The Retribution is the seventh book in the Tony Hill & Carol Jordan series by Val McDermid. I was a little skeptical about reading a novel this far along in the series but my fears were unwarranted. McDermid provided enough background information, that I quickly felt I was in the loop. Cemetery Girl was an addictive novel, that kept me up till 3 in the morning to reach the conclusion. Bell weaves a believable tale of a parent’s worst nightmare. He delivers it with an authentic voice in Tom Stuart.

First, I have to tell you that I am a huge fan of Tess Gerristen and that I have read all of her work. I think that she is one of the best mystery suspense thriller authors of this decade.
