Desperate and Deceptive by Jayne Castle

Desperate and Deceptive: The Guinevere Jones Collection Volume 1 by Jayne Castle brings us the first two books in the Guinevere Jones series previously published as a four book series. As a fan of Castle, I was delighted to see these books republished since they have been out of print for some time, and my library didn’t have them. I have come to love Castle’s futuristic books but loved these straight romantic suspense stories. Mini review: Gritty PI stories with a dynamic duo that made me laugh and stole my heart.

Skeleton’s Key by Stacy Green

In July, I reviewed Tin God the first book in Stacy Green’s Delta Crosswords romantic suspense series and enjoyed it. I was eager to begin Cage’s story in, Skeleton’s Key. While this is book two, each of the novels work as a standalone. Once again Green delivered a gripping murder mystery in the heart of Mississippi. A historic plantation, secret rooms, murder and a side dish of romance had me flipping the pages to uncover the truth. Mini review: fascinating, suspenseful. Small-town charm and a little romance made this an entertaining read.

With a compelling storyline, unique characters and a heated romance this tale offered the perfect read for a cold, windy night by the fire. Mini review: suspenseful, romantic and engaging.

The Night Is Forever by Heather Graham

Call me weird but I love old haunted graveyards, and a little paranormal magic. The Night is Forever Heather Graham’s newest Krewe of Hunters series delivered that and more with its mysterious murders, hot federal agent and Nashville setting. Three word review: a clever who-dun-it, likeable characters and a hot little romance.
