If you have been staying Caffeinated then you already know Jayne Anne Krentz and her pseudonyms are on my auto-buy list. I consumed, River Road, when it released in January and I’m delighted to share it with you. Set in wine country, Krentz delivers a murder mystery with complicated suspects and a hero and heroine we can adore. The cover and synopsis of Atonement by B.J. Daniels sold me, and then after I realized it was the fourth book in the Beartooth, Montana series. Worries about jumping in late were quickly dismissed as each book can be read as a standalone. Daniels did an excellent job of reintroducing older characters and making me feel comfortable. Mini review: suspenseful, multiple story threads and a slow-building romance kept me captivated.
Lovely, Dark and Deep by Susannah Sandlin was a serial that I read over the course of eight weeks, and it was such a thrilling adventure. (Kindle Serials are stories published in episodes, with future episodes delivered at no additional cost.) Sandlin once again showcased her talent as she delved into the romantic suspense genre. I fell in love with the men that make up Hard Ink, in Hard as It Gets book one of Laura Kaye’s hot new romantic suspense series featuring a former Special Forces team. Hard as You Can brought us back into the action and shared the romance of Shane McCallan and Crystal Dean. Mini review: Intense action, bikers and a girl in trouble made this a page-flipping read.
Dangerous Refuge was my first read by author Elizabeth Lowell. One of my favorite genres is romantic suspense, and while the romance developed a little too quickly it was a captivating mystery. Mini review: Suspenseful, strong characters and an interesting murder mystery.
