A Night Like This by Julia Quinn

I love a good Regency romance, and when the author adds in a little suspense and deliciously fleshed out characters the world around me fades away. A Night Like This by Julia Quinn was such a tale. Quinn delivered a wonderful story, with colorful characters and dangerous suspense that had me flipping the pages. Three word review: romantic, suspenseful and incredibly delicious.

A Warm Place to Call Home by Michael Siemsen

A Warm Place to Call Home by Michael Siemsen is a glimpse into the life of Frederick. Frederick is a demon who came into existence in the eighties. Told in first person, he shares with us his experiences as he possesses a man name Joseph Cling in his search for love. Unique, shocking and wonderfully paced I could not but this odd little tale down and consumed it in a single evening.

Deception Cove by Jayne Castle

Deception Cove is the second book in the Rainshadow trilogy and the tenth in the Harmony series. While it isn’t necessary to read them in order, I recommend you at least read the trilogies in order. Jayne Castle is a pseudonym for Jayne Ann Krentz and all of her stories take place in the future, in a world called Harmony. I love this strange world, especially the dust bunnies that dwell there. Three word review: suspenseful, romantic and entertaining.

Darkness Rises by Dianne Duvall

Darkness Rises by Dianne Duvall quickly reminded me why I enjoy paranormal romances wrapped in suspense and a little paranormal woo-woo. While this was my first Duvall novel and the fourth in the Immortal Guardians series, this worked wonderfully as a standalone. Fans of Laurie London’s Sweetblood series will love the fast-pace, characters and sizzling romance that Duvall delivers. Three word review: suspenseful, romantic and action-packed.
