Hero Next Door tempted me with the single Military Dad trope. I am a sucker for a single daddy. This was my fist Lara Swann book. She provided a nice balance of adorableness, suspense and wicked heat. I chose to listen to new me to narrators, Veronica Worthington and John Lane.
The Rehearsal Dinner & The Reception by J. R. Ward
The Rehearsal Dinner and The Reception are part of The Wedding From Hell trilogy by J.R. Ward. They are free digital stories and a prequel to Consumed the first full-length novel in J. R. Ward’s Firefighters, romantic suspense series available October 9th. I love that the author and Simon & Schuster gave us insight into these firefighters, the crew and town.
The Owlmen by S. E. England
The Owlmen by S. E. England was an atmospheric tale that will keep it’s audience on edge. Narrated by Henrietta Meire I quickly found myself caught up in Ellie Blake’s story as it unfolds just outside the moorland village of Bridesmoor.
Nonna’s Corner: The Day That A Ran Away by B.C.R. Fegan
Welcome to another edition of Nonna’s Corner where I share books I’ve read with my grandchildren, affectionately known as the “Royals” here at Caffeinated. Today we are sharing a tall tale called The Day That A Ran Away by B.C.R. Fegan with illustrations by Lenny Wen. Grab a cup of pumpkin spice coffee and check it out.
Sadie by Courtney Summers
Sadie by Courtney Summers was a hard read, but Summers never fails to impress me. It’s the kind of story that sticks with you. A mystery, an investigation and heart-wrenching discoveries await you dear reader. Set time aside for this as it will keep you reading into the wee hours, sleep be damned.
