What Happens in Scotland by Jennifer McQuiston

What Happens in Scotland, Jennifer McQuiston’s debut historical romance was a delightfully funny tale. I began this late at night with the intention of reading just a few chapters and found myself reading the last page at 2:20 in the morning. From an unexpected wedding to a devious plotter this tale kept me turning the pages to find my happily-ever-after.

Hysteria by Megan Miranda

This was my first time reading Megan Miranda’s works and I must say I enjoyed Hysteria. While not flawless, it did offer up a fascinating suspense thriller that kept me entertained. She brings us up close and personal into the mental struggle Mallory faces after she murders her boyfriend. With twists and turns at every corner Miranda kept me on edge.

Breaking Point by Kristen Simmons

I loved Simmons’ debut novel Article 5 and was excited about returning to the world she created in this gripping, post-apocalyptic dystopian. Breaking Point brought us deeper into this world as Ember and Chase struggle to save friends and join the Resistance. Once again I was captivated by the characters and the stark, government controlled world they live in.

I have always been curious about smells and the attraction we feel to them or associate with them. Certain smells trigger memories for me some good and some bad. In Scent of Darknesswe are taken on a strange journey with one woman and the two men in her life. One represents good and the other evil. While the tale was engaging enough, it did leave me scratching my head.
