I was excited to tackle another murder-mystery case with Raine & Hume. A Bloodstained Coat by Stephen Williams narrated by Hannah Curtis delivered an intense police suspense thriller when a man’s bloodstained coat has the blood of three women on it. One found dead with horrifying wounds.

A bloodstained coat. Three missing women. One dead body.

Detective Mary Hume reckons she's seen it all. But she's never seen anything like this.

It begins with the discovery of a broken body in a lift shaft in an old Victorian warehouse.

The postmortem reveals the bloodstains on the dead man's coat belong to three different people. DNA identifies one of them as Julie Cross, whose body was discovered six months earlier, covered in horrifying wounds.

Maverick ex-police officer Raine was hired to look for Julie. She didn't find Julie in time. But she's determined to find out who killed her.

So, who does the rest of the blood belong to?

Chalk-and-cheese detective duo Raine and Hume are in a race against time to uncover the truth before more young women die.

CRIME MURDERMYSTERY SUSPENSE thriller

Once again, Williams hooked me with the case from both a victim’s perspective and those of Raine & Hume. While each of the audiobooks in this series contains an addictive case, if you want to learn about the characters themselves and their developments, I recommend starting with the first audio.

Raine, an ex-police officer, was hired to find Julie; the body discovered six months early whose blood is also present on a man’s coat discovered by Hume and her partner DS Echo. Raine is determined to find her killer, and Hume is actively looking for the other missing woman. The tale that unfolds was chilling and their cases slowly weave together.

Prepare for plenty of suspense, dark threads, violence and a daring race against time to save more women. The difference between the two women is interesting and the change in perspectives allows the listener to observe their skills and, shall we say, oddities? I am looking at you, Raine. LOL

Hannah Curtis does a wonderful job of giving voice to both Raine & Hume, as well as the prologue with Julie. I recommend listening to the series.

An intense crime mystery thriller that will hook you from the start.

Sounds like another good mystery read! And I love the way it has that pop of color with the red on the cover. Question for you, for the related posts part you have at the end of your review, is that something you have automatically set up, or do you do that each time yourself? I love that idea!
