Fiona Shaw is back to narrator another Thursday Murder Club Mystery. The Last Devil to Die by Richard Osman is the fourth novel in the series. I have grown to love this diverse group of retirees who reside in apartments at Cooper’s Chase along the English coast. It’s Boxing Day, a package is missing and the body count has just begun. Come see why I love this series and characters.

A new mystery is afoot in the fourth book in the Thursday Murder Club series from million-copy bestselling author Richard Osman
You'd think you would be allowed to relax over Christmas, but not in the world of the Thursday Murder Club.
On Boxing Day, a dangerous package is smuggled across the English coast. When it goes missing, chaos is unleashed. The body count starts to rise - including someone close to the Thursday Murder Club - as our gang face an impossible search and their most deadly opponents yet.
With the clock ticking down and a killer heading to Cooper's Chase, has their luck finally run out? And who will be 'The Last Devil To Die'?
It was wonderful to return to Cooper’s Chase, especially during the holidays. We reconnect with everyone and get news on what has been happening with our club members and friends. We find Elizabeth preoccupied with Stephen’s Alzheimer. The story is told from multiple points of view, but most come from Joyce, and her journal entries.
Someone stole a package and killed an elderly man at the antique shop that received it. But why? The mystery was wonderful, with plenty of twists and excitement as our motley crew investigate. Of course they end up in hair-raising situations. Chris and Donna, the local police, soon have the national force stepping in and taking over the case. Of course, both the local police and our murder club continue to investigate. The villains underestimate them and had me cringing over the danger they put themselves in. They gave me a good chuckle too.
Osman weaves pure gold with these characters and their investigations. He does so while touching on relevant topics like smuggling, health issues and scammers who target older victims. I don’t think I will ever tire of the series and cannot wait for the next one. Although we may have a bit of wait as the author explores another new series. Be sure to listen to his chat with Fiona and the end!
If you love solving mysteries, I recommend you grab your headphones and join our septuagenarians as they meet for Thursday Murder Club. Fiona Shaw did a delightful job bringing these characters to life. It’s clear she enjoys these characters as much as I do.

I really love this series. They are all such great characters and make me laugh as they are totally underestimated.

I need to return to this series. I loved the first book but haven’t picked up any others. Shaw reading the audio may be the way to dip my toes back in!

Love Richard as a presenter, I’m a bit loathe to pick up any of his books though as whilst they come highly recommended in the past I’ve been so disappointed by novels written by celebs I have thought highly of.
