On Thursday, my husband came home from work at midday with a fever, chills and sore throat. He tested positive for Covid and is quarantining. Hazel has symptoms, but was not tested because of her age. Either she is teething or has it. We are treating her as positive. The rest of us are negative and would like to keep it that way. Fingers crossed, we don’t all fall. Stay cool, stay healthy and Stay Caffeinated.

I hope everyone stays as healthy as possible. COVID is everywhere right now. Symptoms vary from almost none, to full-on flu-like symptoms. And it’s highly contagious. A big problem, too, is that people can have COVID for 1-3 days before testing positive. I just read a report that documented how vaccinated/boostered folks, as well as those who have had COVID within the last 90 days, are getting it. *HUGS*

I hope everyone else stays negative and hubby and Hazel (if she has it) recover quickly. My daughter got it last week while staying with mom. So far mom is negative. Which is a good thing since she’s 85 and was just diagnosed with stomach cancer.

I am so sorry Kimberly – especially as I know your husband has ongoing problems after having had covid previously. I do hope he makes a quick recovery and that none of you also go down with it. There are also reports of folks whose second bout of covid also knocks out their ongoing long covid symptoms – fingers crossed that he falls into that category!

Sorry to hear your husband tested positive. It is frustrating that it is still making the rounds in another version. I have a friend who is very ill in hospital with blood clots in his lungs. Scary in that situation.
I hope every one else stays healthy at your home. Stay rested and enjoy your reading.

  5. Rachel @Waves of Fiction

Oh bummer about your husband and Hazel! At least it seems this variant isn’t as deadly as the original one. Hope everyone recovers quickly and no one else in the family gets it.

I’m going to grab Vanishing Hour too. Love Laura Griffin!

Bummer about Covid. Yes, hopefully, it will skip the rest of you. Good haul you got this week.

Wishing you well and a good week, Kimberly!

So sorry Covid has reared its ugly head in your family. I hope they get better quick and don’t pass it on. (((hugs)))

I’m so sorry about your husband and Hazel, wishing they get much better fast. I hope it’s just teething with Hazel, and the rest of you all stay healthy.

I’m sorry to hear your husband tested positive. This new strain has me concerned – again! Will it ever end? Hopefully the rest of the family stays in the clear. I need to check out the new Ronald Malfi book. I read Come With Me last year and really enjoy it. Take care!

COVID seems to be rampant everywhere right now. I’m hearing so many people who had been lucky enough to escape it get in the past few weeks. I hope your family recovers quickly and that you don’t get it. Great haul this week! Here’s to a healthy week ahead!

Yes, I am seeing the same. My friend worked in the ER and managed not to get it in the first rounds, but last week her entire household got it. So far, only my husband has it.

  12. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Oh no! I hope Hazel is just teething! I know my niece was getting bad fevers like that and we chalked it up to teething, since she did have new teeth coming in at the time. Keeping my fingers crossed for you all! Hope the husband has a quick version of it and gets well soon!

Nice new reads! Those are all new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a great day!

Snap! My husband has tested positive too. It’s really flaring up again with these omicron varients. 🙁
Fingers crossed the rest of you stay healthy. Have a good week!

Ooops! You must take care of yourself. Ai ai.

I didn’t know Blake Crouch has a new book out. A strange author, but one I still enjoy. Will take a look at your review.

    Have a good week Kimberly!

Oh no! I hope that he recovers soon and anyone else in the household that gets it. It is everywhere at the moment. Currently in the UK apparently 1 in 19 of us has it 😱

Hope he feels better for you soon. My son got it from school so I was prepared to get it…..but didn’t!

  17. Katherine

I hope your husband and Hazel have mild symptoms and they keep it to themselves! Both my parents have tested positive in the last couple weeks but luckily both had mild cases. Enjoy your reading and stay safe!

  18. Greg

Oh no- so sorry to hear that! It seems to be raging again- I’ve heard of so many people getting it lately. Sending lots of well wishes and positive vibes your way- take care!

  19. Jen at Introverted Reader

Eight of my extended family members currently have covid (My parents both come from large families). This strain has made more of us sick already than any other so far. I hope your husband and Hazel feel better soon and the rest of you avoid it.

    Stay healthy!
