She thought that her life couldn’t get any stranger. Boy, was she wrong.
Rosemary Bell’s ex-husband is now a turtle, she’s suddenly witch royalty, her daughter Maggie's new best friend is an imaginary kangaroo hopping around the forests of Mosswood, Georgia, and her Witch King, Declan, isn’t making her life or her couch’s throw pillows any cushier.
Just as she’s starting to fall for Declan, a shocking confession leaves her reeling and Rosie wonders whether she is really meant to be the queen of anything. When a sexy bombshell arrives in town with her eyes set on Rosie’s King and crown, she will have to decide for herself what her destiny is - and soon.
Struggling between caring for Declan and caring for herself and Maggie, Rosie does her best to rise above the woman’s provocation. But when Maggie is kidnapped on All Hallow’s Eve, Rosie has no choice but to trust Declan and work together to get her daughter back. After an intense magical ritual brings her new powers full circle, Rosie finds out that jealousy’s a witch - literally!
Jealousy’s a Witch by Louisa West is the second audiobook in the Midlife in Mosswood series. Narrated by Johanna Parker, we are back at the cottage where trouble is brewing.
Rosemary (Rosie) Bell thought things were looking up. She and Maggie were settling in the cottage. Her ex-husband is a turtle and her romance with Declan is wonderful, but all of that comes crashing down when she discovers he’s been keeping a secret.
Rosie and Maggie have a house guest when one woman in town leaves her husband. Tammy was delightful and a good friend to Rosie. I loved all the antics with the townfolk, particularly at the dance. It was hard seeing Declan on the outs.
When Maggie is kidnapped, we learn some truths and Rosie will need to rely on Declan to save her daughter.
This was another quick escape that offered a mix of humor, suspense and a touch of romance. Invisible kangaroos and naughty turtles added to the story.
Johanna Parker narrates and does a lovely job of capturing these characters, even Declan’s lyrical accent. At just under five hours, these stories are perfect listens you can enjoy in a single evening.

“Her ex-husband is a turtle’ <– this made me laugh. I mean, is he a literal turtle? I wouldn't even be surprised. This is about witches after all. 🙂
