The Descent by Alma Katsu

Alma Katsu took us on one heck of a ride with the Taker Trilogy and the wait for The Descent the final book in this dark paranormal romance was worth the wait. I consumed this and was left satisfied on so many levels. While not as dark as it’s predecessors we get answers and a strong conclusion. Mini review: Beautifully written with fleshed out characters and an engaging conclusion.

Skovron introduces a mix of genres in this paranormal romance, from cyberpunk to fantasy. At its heart, it is a coming of age story, with life lessons and first experiences. Mini review: quirky, intriguing and for the young at heart.

A Warm Place to Call Home by Michael Siemsen

A Warm Place to Call Home by Michael Siemsen is a glimpse into the life of Frederick. Frederick is a demon who came into existence in the eighties. Told in first person, he shares with us his experiences as he possesses a man name Joseph Cling in his search for love. Unique, shocking and wonderfully paced I could not but this odd little tale down and consumed it in a single evening.

Action packed with a corrupt US government and kids with unique capabilities this action packed tale kept me entertained. Three word review: action-packed, suspenseful and yes another cliffhanger!
