I am a happy go luck person and not much gets my panties in a bunch. So I thought I would share a list of what “grinds my gears” Maybe you can relate but at the very least I hope you laugh….
I have read Diana Rowland’s books before and enjoyed them, so I have no idea why I waited so long to begin the White Trash Zombie series. I finally decided enough was enough and snagged the audio version of My Life as a White Trash Zombie. At just under nine hours, this was hilarious on audio. Rowland weaves humor and a little mystery as our protagonist discovers she is a zombie. BRAINS!!!!
A Spool of Blue Thread by Anne Tyler takes us into the lives of the Whitshanks from the 1920’s to present day giving us glimpses into their daily lives, beginnings, frustrations and life’s ever changing cycles. Humorous, poignant and complex Tyler brought this family to life sharing the complexity of family life.
The Importance of Being Alice is a cute, sometimes humorous romance and the first of the Ainslie Brothers series by Katie MacAlister. Of course, I was immediately drawn to this by the promise of brothers. You all know by now this is a weakness of mine. While not without issues, The Importance of Being Alice was a fluffy romance with a castle, and interesting secondary characters.
I pre-ordered Seventh Grave and No Body the seventh book in the hilariously awesome Charley Davidson series and began reading it on release day. My intention as always was to savoir it. *hangs head* Yeah, as if. I came up for air at about 50%. My sides hurt from giggling and my nether parts from swooning over Reyes. I than decided a nap would allow me to savior it longer. *dreams of Reyes, yeah I can so handle that* Forty-five minutes later, I was back in the story and soon in tears because it was over. OVER. Now I have to wait until May 2015.*sobs* Oh, the cruelty of it all! Despite the frustration of having to wait for more answers, and more time with this motley crew of characters that I abso-friggin-loutely adored Seventh Grave and No Body was brilliant. Brilliant I tell you.
