Saving Ben by Ashley Farley had me curious since we don’t often find mystery in the new adult genre. It offers a slow-building mystery that opens with a missing girl and shares the events leading up to and after her disappearance. While the ending felt a tad rushed and left me wanting I became caught up in the tale.
The Dead Play On by Heather Graham is the third book in her Cafferty and Quinn paranormal series set in New Orleans. Paranormal woo-woo, musicians and murder have Quinn and Cafferty searching for a missing saxophone and a killer.
Gads, I just love the dynamic duo of Braun and Books in the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences series. Dawn’s Early Light has them traveling to the Americas, in danger and advancing their partnership. James Langton is such an unbelievable pleasure to listen to and I just slip into the world. Steampunk, a suspenseful case, and deliciously good banter had me smiling.
Secret societies, mysteries prophecies, inner circles and a girl destine to change the world. The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall was a compelling audio listen with its Da Vinci Code vibe and forbidden romance. The Conspiracy of Us was suspenseful and action-packed as Avery West finds herself searching for answers to an ancient prophecy.
Crazy Love You by Lisa Unger had so many elements I love from an unreliable narrator to a twisted thriller with a dash of mystery and romance that kept me flipping the pages. Brilliantly paced with depth, suspense and an underlying paranormal element Crazy Love You delivered.
