The Silenced by Heather Graham is the fifteenth book in the Krewe of Hunters series, but do not let that intimidate you. Each of the books focuses on one murder mystery and a romance. The Silenced gave us a missing young woman and the bodies of others showing up in local rivers. Weave in some Washington politics and you have yourself a very intense mystery.
Finders Keepers by Stephen King
Finders Keepers by Stephen King is the second book in his Bill Hodges trilogy. I for one am enjoying these crime novels and its cast of quirky characters. I have been listening to the series on audio and love having Will Patton narrate them. Bill and the gang don’t get as much page time as the previous novel but King delivered a compelling story with villain Morris Bellamy and a young man named Peter Saubers.
The Alchemist’s Daughter by Mary Lawrence
The Alchemist’s Daughter by Mary Lawrence is the first in her new Bianca Goddard Mysteries. The tale takes place during the reign of King Henry VIII and offers a heroine who dabbles in forensics as she tries to exonerate herself from murder charges.
Saving Ben by Ashley Farley
Saving Ben by Ashley Farley had me curious since we don’t often find mystery in the new adult genre. It offers a slow-building mystery that opens with a missing girl and shares the events leading up to and after her disappearance. While the ending felt a tad rushed and left me wanting I became caught up in the tale.
The Dead Play On by Heather Graham
The Dead Play On by Heather Graham is the third book in her Cafferty and Quinn paranormal series set in New Orleans. Paranormal woo-woo, musicians and murder have Quinn and Cafferty searching for a missing saxophone and a killer.
