I love the Rip in Time series by Kelley Armstrong and was delighted to get early access to Schemes & Scandals, a holiday novella. A modern day female detective finds herself in Victorian Scotland where she helps a doctor and a constable solve murders. It’s Mallory Atkinson’s first Christmas and she and Dr. Gray must solve a blackmailing case.
It was wonderful to be back in the Hollows with the eighteenth book in the series. Demon’s Bluff by Kim Harrison has Rachel trying to undo a curse, bring back the dead and find some time with her elf. Action-packed with dangerous time travel and a stowaway. I couldn’t help but devour the book.
I was excited to return to the Rip Through Time series with Disturbing the Dead by Kelley Armstrong. This is the third mystery novel about modern-day homicide detective Mallory Atkinson, who solves cases in Victorian era Scotland with the handsome undertaker/medical examiner Dr. Duncan Gray. A fantastic case and reveals.
The Book of Doors by Gareth Brown delivered a delightful adventure filled with danger, time travel, magical realism and books. A fast-paced tale with twists, unique characters and fresh ideas. Narrated by Marinda Raison, I highly recommend listening!
Cocktails & Chloroform by Kelley Armstrong was the perfect novella in the Rip Through Time series to hold me over until the next release. When Mallory follows the parlor maid, she ends up in a spot of trouble in this clever short story.
