Calamity by Brandon Sanderson is the last novel in the Reckoners series and one of my most highly anticipated audiobooks this year. I have had such a blast listening to MacLeod Andrews narrates this action-packed series and love the characters within. Sadly, while I enjoyed Calamity it ended up fizzling and did not deliver the intense epic final battle I craved.
Dare to Run by Jen McLaughlin
Jen McLaughlin sets Dare to Run, the first book in her new Sons of Steel Row series against the backdrop of Boston, Massachusetts. I was curious after reading the synopsis and the cover sealed the deal. Dare to Run was intense, dark, funny, and full of feels as we enter the world of the Boston criminal gangs and meet our dark hero Lucas Donahue.
White Trash Zombie Gone Wild by Diana Rowland
White Trash Zombie Gone Wild by Diana Rowland is the fifth book in the White Trash Zombie series. Hilarious, Intense, and filled with both crazy and heartfelt moments we once again witness Angel Crawford lose her shit and save the day. I absolutely love listening to this series. Allison McLemore narrates and just brings Angel and the other characters to life.
Wickedly Ever After by Deborah Blake
I was excited to read the novella Wickedly Ever After by Deborah Blake. It is book 2.5 in the Baba Yaga urban fantasy series and features Barbara Yager from book one, Wickedly Dangerous. Seeking the Queen’s approval to wed Sheriff Liam McClellan they travel to the Otherworld and the tale that unfolded quickly drew me in.
The Dirt on Ninth Grave by Darynda Jones
I devoured The Dirt on Ninth Grave, book nine in the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones. After the jaw-dropping, nail-biting conclusion of Eighth Grave After Dark, I was nervous about what we would face going into this novel. I should have set those trepidations aside because Jones handled it brilliantly. I loved how the events in The Dirt on Ninth Grave unfolded.
