I love reading a good medical thriller and was excited to dive into Host by Robin Cook. While the tale was engaging and the investigation into what was happening at South Carolina’s Mason-Dixon Hospital kept me flipping the pages, I had issues with a few things.
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff is a young adult science fiction thriller that is perfect for fall and will have you holding your breath. Completely riveting I consumed this 600-page tome in less than two days.

The Drafter is a science fiction suspense thriller filled with gadgets and covert agencies set against the backdrop of Detroit in the year 2030. It offers a cat and mouse game where Peri Reed must decide whom to trust.
Riven is the third book in the Lost Imperial series by Tyler Jolley and Sherry D. Ficklin. Riven mirrors the timeline of Prodigal and offered an intense ride. This tale focuses on Ethan and his story held me spellbound from the mysterious Stills to rifting in the future.
Clean Sweep by writing duo Ilona Andrews is the first in the Innkeeper Chronicles series and once again, I chose to listen with narrator Renee Raudman. A cross between science fiction and urban fantasy Clean Sweep was an absolute blast on audio.
