Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire is the second story in the fantasy series Wayward Children. Imagine my surprise when the story was narrated by the author. Now, this can be a good or downright terrible. I am delighted to say it was magical.
The Unblessed Dead by Rhiannon Frater is the first in her new series, The Hidden Necromancer. Frightening and suspenseful The Unblessed Dead was an addictive page-turner.
The subject matter of Aftermath is upsetting but I received a copy in the mail and decided to try it. I am really glad that I did. While relevant, it takes a look at the families affected by school shooting and shares the friendship between a shooter’s sister and the brother of a victim. Armstrong added a suspenseful thread and sweet romance to the story making it a worthy read.
