Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart is the final book in the Love by Numbers trilogy by author Sarah MacLean. After devouring the first two books (you can click on links to those reviews at the end of this post) I was excited to begin this one. McLean didn’t disappoint me, as she delivered another humorous romance with a headstrong heroine. I quickly consumed this while on vacation and found it to be delightful.
Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard
Something Strange and Deadly is the first novel in Susan Dennard’s Something Strange and Deadly series. The tale takes place in Philadelphia, PA in the year 1876. I loved this steampunk zombie novel, featuring the feisty, sleuth protagonist Eleanor Fitt. I easily finished this novel in two evenings and look forward to reading more.
The Unspoken by Heather Graham
The Unspoken by Heather Graham is the seventh novel in the Krewe of Hunter series. All of these tales can be read as a standalone. Each case has paranormal elements, which require the skills of a special unit of the FBI, known as the Krewe of Hunters. Agents Katya Sokolpv and Will Chan head up a case involving a sunken treasure, a curse and several unexplained deaths. This was a fun, suspenseful read as they worked to find a murderer and stop a mummies curse.
Seduced by Blood by Laurie London
Seduced by Blood is the fourth book in Laurie London’s Sweetblood series. Each of these books can be read as a standalone and focuses on one member of an elite team of vampires who protect humankind from the Darkbloods. This novel brings us Tristan Santiago and Roxanne Reynolds romance. As they search for a spy among his team, this undercover couple finds more than they bargained for. I consumed this in one evening as London quickly took me back to the Pacific Northwest and the headquarters of the Guardians.
This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers
I have not read any of Courtney Summers’ previous novels but after devouring, This is Not A Test, I certainly plan too. This YA horror takes us on a riveting journey as a zombie outbreak occurs. She shares with us the tale of six students who seek shelter in their high school. Its the Breakfast Club meets Zombie apocalypse and I totally loved it.
