SNOWSPELLED is a novella that begins the Harwood Spellbook fantasy series by Stephanie Burgis. This was a quick engaging read that sets up the series and introduces both the volatile world and strong female heroine. Magic, supernatural creatures and a dystopian world where men practice magic and women handle the political aspects from treaties to legislation.
A single mom, a little boy who dresses up like a super hero, and a rescue dog and his partner made EVERY LITTLE KISS by Marina Adair a sweet and heartwarming listen. I read the first novel, but when I saw that Renee Raudman narrated the Sequoia Lake series, I switched to audio. I am so glad that I did. It added a nice touch, and I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
THE SUMMER THAT MADE US by Robyn Carr is a touching tale of family and their summer house on Lake Waseka. A place where the sisters brought their children and spent the summers basking by the lake, until one fateful summer that ripped them apart. DEAD SKY MORNING is the third book in Karina Halle’s Experiment in Terror series and lordy was it creeptastic. As we get to know the main characters and move into new cases this series just keeps getting better. Turn on the lights and grab your earbuds!
