A vampire who can’t remember his past and a witch with secrets of her own hit the road in this zany, cross-country romantic comedy from beloved author Jenna Levine.

Reformed bad witch Grizelda “Zelda” Watson had hoped to never see another vampire again when she slipped away to sunny California for a fresh start. She'd grown tired of them and their nonsense ages ago. But when a vampire with amnesia unexpectedly shows up on her doorstep with a letter from her old friend Reggie, and asks for her help, she can’t say no. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Peter Elliott is tall and gorgeous, looks great in yoga shorts, and has the kind of dark hair and surly expression Zelda’s been a sucker for for hundreds of years.

Peter isn’t completely harmless—he is fanged, after all—but he’s harmless enough, and soon becomes the only person in Zelda’s new life who knows the truth about what she is. If she can help him decipher the cryptic notes in his journal, the only clues to his lost memories, she might as well try before sending him on his way.

But when an alarming message from Peter's past coincides with a clear sign that Zelda can't keep running from her own, they embark on a cross-country road trip for answers—only to find what they're looking for in each other.

Sophia Rose’s Review

A vampire with amnesia and a reforming witch with malfunctioning magic end up on a road trip for a fun proximity paranormal romcom in this third and final My Vampires series installment from new-to-me author, Jenna Levine.

🏞 Road Trip With a Vampire was standalone with loose connections through minor characters to the series books that came before.

🧙I had a good time with Zelda who left her witchy life behind in an attempt to reform – and get away from vampires- as a yoga instructor in California.  Wouldn’t you know it, her saucy pal Reggie deposits a vampire on her doorstep with a request for her to help the guy get his memories back. At first, she is wary and reluctant, but she gives Peter a chance.  Zelda’s magic is malfunctioning and she really does want to help out Peter Elliot, so, why not?

🧛‍♂️As the road trip to go to the places in his journal to spark memories for him, Peter learns that people who know him are terrified of him and its not exactly safe to be on this trip down memory lane.  The articles and news from Zelda’s past and scenes from Peter’s past that dot the front of each chapter helped fill in their backgrounds even as they are getting to know each other in the present.  He’s good with Zelda and they have a spark of communion as two peas in a pod do.  I liked seeing them figuring out their individual situations even as their nearness and time on the road together leads to a connection.  However, it was only a matter of time before Peter’s secrets came into the light and I suspected what would happen and it did.  💥

There were funny, spicy, and enough suspenseful moments to make Road Trip With a Vampire an entertaining, sassy read.  Definitely one for the paranormal romcom crowd.

Yes, I puttered around and didn’t snag the first two though they did catch my eye. I want to go back and read the earlier books now. This was fun.

  1. Jessica @ a GREAT read

OOh nice! I still need to read the second book of this interconnected standalones series! I liked the first one. Calling it a cute paranormal romcom is hitting the nail on the head! I love the added paranormal goodness and just the light hearted story! They are a breath of fresh air after a complex fantasy world. Lol. Glad to hear this one was enjoyable! Great review!

And, I need to go back for the first two. I’m glad it worked out to read standalone, but I was curious about the others mentioned in the story. Thanks, Jessica! I think you’ll have a good time with this one.
