I grabbed The Lodge by Kayla Olsen when I noticed the narrators of this romcom. With its cozy vibes, lodge setting and ghostwriter working on a boy band member’s, memoir Olsen delivered the perfect romance listen.

From the author of The Reunion, a cozy rom-com about a writer who decamps to a Vermont lodge for work but finds herself distracted by the charming ski instructor next door.
Alix Morgan just got her big break as the ghostwriter of a memoir by Sebastian Green, a former member of the boy band True North. And when he offers her a penthouse at a luxurious resort in Vermont, she jumps at the chance to work far away from her noisy, cramped apartment.
Her career as an entertainment journalist has been building toward this dream job—after all, she used to cover True North and was one of the last people to interview former front man Jett Beckett before he disappeared. As she combs through her client’s voice memos, the specter of the missing lead singer remains, and fans are desperate to know the full story.
But Alix also has time for some fun at this glamorous resort, where she begins ski lessons with a handsome instructor named Tyler. As Alix and Tyler fall in love on the slopes, Alix’s work takes a complicated turn—and the mystery of True North’s downfall may be hers to solve.
Coffee Dates with The Lodge by Kayla Olsen
- First Date: Alix Morgan is working on a memoir for Sebastian Green, a former member of the boy band True North. Since her sister moved into her city apartment, she is having a difficult time writing with all the distractions. When Green graciously offers her the use of his penthouse at a luxurious resort in Vermont, she jumps at the chance. I liked Alix and immediately settled into this cozy romance.
- Second Date: Alix is a bit of a homebody and after a rocky relationship, she’s not ready to enter the dating scene, but her best friend encourages her to at least get out there and hit the slopes. Since she hasn’t been on the slopes since she was a teen, she decides some refresher lessons are in order. Tyler, the handsome instructor, puts her at ease and soon the two are spending time together. Alix is still trying to get her writing done, if she could only pin down Sebastian. She really wants the deets on what happened between him and the band’s former front man, Jett Beckett. Jeff disappeared and now one knows what really happened. Sebastian seems aloof, but there is a story there.
- Third Date: While this tale doesn’t bring the heat, there was plenty of chemistry, steamy kisses and heart elevating moments. Can Alix solve the mystery of True North’s downfall and keep her sister from getting them evicted? The author threw in some twists before wrapping up this romance and revealing the deets on True North. I felt the wrap up was a little muddy, but I ended up feeling satisfied.
The Narration: I applaud Simon & Schuster Audio for providing multiple voices. We have Andi Arndt, Graham Halstead, and Gilli Messer. Each captured the tone and personalities of these characters, making them feel genuine. I highly recommend listening, as I think it enhanced the overall tale.

I like audio books that have a different narrators for each POVs. I never been to Vermont in the winter. I’m sure it look nice as it does in the summer.

That sounds like a fun one. I’ve never been skiing. But I imagine if I did, I wouldn’t get a hunky instructor, just a broken leg or arm. LOL
