Clayton turns eight, and there will be cake. We got him a new bike, and he was over the moon happy. This week I completely deleted my Twitter (X) accounts. I am on Threads and Booksky. Given the toxic environment and the TOS for AI on X, I deleted my content. Zero regrets. For now, I am manually sharing Blogger accounts to Threads & Bluesky. If you have a WordPress blog, I recommend updating your social media share buttons to include the new ones as the mass exodus continues. The 2024 HoHoHoRAT begins Thursday and I am excited to drink hot cocoa and devour winter and holiday books and audios. Have you signed up? Stay Caffeinated.

I had quit using X when it was still Twitter and haven’t missed. I’ll have to check out Booksky. Happy birthday to Clayton! 8 is such a fun age – old enough to be able to do fun things but teenager-ness hasn’t snuck in yet! I hope you have a great week!
Vidya
happy birthday to Clayton.. eight is such a wonderful age… And love the cover of A Lady Would Know Better

I’m so glad so many folks are finally moving to Bluesky. If you are on WP, you can use Jetpack to share your posts – I just started it, so I’m not sure how it will work. I know there is a limit to the number of shares and I already use it for FB, so we’ll see if I keep it that way.
Mary Kirkland
Happy birthday to him.
I signed up for Bluesky too but I still have my Twitter account too.

The only reason I haven’t quit X is because of all the followers I have accumulated. I worked hard for those and I would hate to lose them.. I only do book stuff and critters.
Cindy's Book Corner
I have not heard of Bluesky. I am still on Twitter and haven’t tried Threads because I don’t want another social media account to keep up with, sigh. I hope you have a great week!
Diana @ Book of Secrets
I’m having a good time on BlueSky. Glad to hear your grandson loved his bike!
Carla
Happy birthday to Clayton! Sounds like he had a great birthday. My only social is Instagram. I got rid of X (Twitter) and Facebook in 2020. It’s just not for me. I wouldn’t be on Instagram if it wasn’t for the fact that I’ve connected with some really great readers and authors.

Happy 8th birthday to Clayton!!!!

Happy birthday to Clayton! I’m glad he’s enjoying his new bike. I joined the mass exodus from X, too. And I need to look at my books to see whether I’ll be doing the HoHoHoRAT this year. I have a bunch of ARCs coming up that I need to try to get to, but I might manage to squeeze in a holiday book or two!
Rachel @Waves of Fiction
Yay for Clayton his new bike, and cake! I will probably delete my X account. I need to sign up for Bluesky. I’m already on Threads. I have The Snow Killer, too. I forgot to list it in my post… Have a great week, Kimberly!
Anne - Books of My Heart
I’m glad Clayton was so pleased with his birthday! I’m curious how you deleted your content. I’ve looked at some tools. As usual I have picked 3000 books to read for HoHoHoRAT.
Kimberly
I used Redact. Elon states that if you deactivate your account, all data will be gone within 30 days.
Anne - Books of My Heart
If I delete my BooksofMyHeart account I might use that to empty the account but not deactivate. That way no one can take over the name. Or I can just leave it and not post there anymore. I’m figuring it out for now.
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
Yeah I need to figure out how to add those share buttons on my WordPress blog. I know there’s a way! Just need time to sit and figure it out. Maybe during my Thanksgiving break. A Lady Should Know Better looks fun! Hope the birthday party is fun, and birthday cake is always great!

A new bike is quite the gift. The kids around here in grade school are all about their bikes. You remind me that I need to do more with my Threads account. At the least, I need to start crossposting my review post links.
Have a good week, Kimberly!
Jamie @ The Fantasy Princess
I have never heard of Bluesky but am going to check it out. A new bike is a fun gift! Hope you have a great week!
Olivia
Happy Birthday to your son! Lots of people seem to be abandoning X. Such is life when its own by yet another psycho billionaire.
A Voracious Reader
Happy Birthday Clayton! I’m spending less time on Twatter. I haven’t been able to delete the account just yet. I’ve been on there since 2011 and it’s a bit hard to let go. I am spending more time on Bluesky and Insta. Haven’t gotten the hang of Threads yet. I’m hoping Bluesky gets group DMS up and running soon. Besides the difficulty in letting go (even if it’s a toxic relationship) I’m in several group DMs for book tours and BBNYA. I’m hoping Bluesky gets group DMs sooner rather than later. I hope your week is a good one!
Kimberly
Yep, I started mine in 2011. After Elon changed it to X, I was only sharing my content and tweeting others, but I would scroll and get upset while trying to chat with friends. The new TOS that went into effect on 11.15 allows Grok and AI to scrap all of your content for AI and other purposes, plus blocked people can see your content even if set as private…nope. Good-bye. I am hoping pubs make their way to Blue Sky like they did to Threads.
Jodie
I only joined Bluesky a few days ago. A new bike is always a favourite gift. Have a wonderful week Kimberly!
Kimberly
Sweet. Look for me @caffeinatedreviewer.com 🙂
Shelleyrae @ Book’d Out
Happy birthday wishes for Clayton!
I haven’t fully let go of Twitter yet but Im building up connections on Bluesky. I we are already mutuals 🙂
Jessica @ a GREAT read
I haven’t gotten to the point of deleting my Twitter account yet. Mainly because I use it for customer service related things when I am trying to get help with something and there’s no other contact way for said company on their site. I have a Threads account and a BlueSky but I don’t use the latter, trying to keep up with two accounts like that is beyond my comfort zone as I was rarely on Twitter before it became hated. Mainly used it for contest entries, lol.
Nice new reads! These are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Emma @ Words And Peace
I can understand the fun of a new bike, lol!
Emily @ Budget Tales Book Blog
I keep thinking about leaving X. I am being completely ignored on Threads which is making me hesitate. That and any Blog Tours that I do have my Blog and X account as references.
Enjoy the cake ☺️
Kimberly
I think the blog tours will change. I will look for you on Threads.
Emily @ Budget Tales Book Blog
I will be emailing the organiser tomorrow to see what she thinks. I have 3,030 followers on X (decreasing all the time 😶) and 72 on Threads.
I have found and followed you 😊
Jannin @ The Booknerd Dragon
Just followed you on Threads!
And you’re right. My social media buttons are indeed in need of an update. Thanks for the reminder!
Happ Sunday!
Lola
I haven’t done much with social media at all lately, but good to know about these new options. Happy birthday to Clayton, that’s nice you got him a new bike. I hope you’ll have a good week!
Gail
Happy birthday to Clayton! I’ve enjoyed several Ross Greenwood books, your new arrival looks interesting. I was on Bluesky for a while but didn’t enjoy it. I might start again there. Still staying with X because it’s such a nice book community.
Jill
Thanks for the reminder about social media buttons!
Laurel-Rain Snow
I deleted my Twitter account a while ago. I am curious about the one you have chosen.
Happy birthday to Clayton!
Lori
Happy Birthday Clayton!🎂🎉
I will be deleting Twitter/X as well. I have transferred my followers and followings to BlueSky. I just to alert all my Great Escapes authors and tour hosts before I pull the plug. The misinformation on that site is awful along with Musk power trip, we have to leave.
I hope you have an awesome week!
Yvonne @ Socrates Book Reviews
Happy Birthday Clayton!
I was going to unplug from all social media except for FB and the blogs, but I “found” Threads and Bluesky and enjoying both. I will be deleting X soon. I’d love to join in Ho Ho Ho this year, but I’m going to be away that week. Maybe next time. Hope you have a great week!
Kimberly
Have a safe trip. I am following you on BlueSky. Am I following you on Threads?
Kimberly
Ha…I am following you on both.
Yvonne @ Socrates Book Reviews
Yes, you are 🙂
Taylor @ Taylor Fenner’s Bookish World
Happy birthday to Clayton! I also deactivated my X account but I have to update my linktree and email signature. I hope you enjoy You Are Fatally Invited! I read an eARC of that in September and enjoyed it!
Kimberly
It was very freeing. Glad you did the same.
