Hello Audiophiles, it’s time to sign up for the 2024 Audiobook Challenge, hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and That’s What I’m Talking About. Choose your level and get those audiobooks ready. We’ve added additional levels and a special mini-challenge for June! Sign up today and choose your level!

Use hashtag #2024AudiobookChallenge on social media to alert others to your listens and progress!

Current 2023 audio challengers, the last check-in will be December 30th. You’ll have 7 days to link up and share your results.

Challenge Details

  • Runs January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024. You can join at any time.
  • The goal is to find a new love for audios or to outdo yourself by listening to more audios in 2024 than you did in 2023.
  • Books must be in audio format (CD, MP3, etc.)
  • All genres count.
  • Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed.
  • You do not have to be a book blogger to participate; you can track your progress on Goodreads, Facebook, etc. I recommend creating a shelf on Goodreads titled 2024 Audiobook Challenge. You can keep track and link the shelf.
  • Grab the button and do a quick post about the challenge to help spread the word. You can post on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or X, Threads, Mastodon, your blog etc. about the challenge.
  • Updates plus a giveaway will be posted twice during the year. The first update will be July 6, 2024, and the last update will take place on December 28, 2024. You’ll have one week to link up and share your progress and enter giveaway

What level will you choose?

  • Newbie (I’ll give it a try) 1-5
  • Weekend Warrior (I’m getting the hang of this) 5-10
  • Stenographer (can listen while multitasking) 10-15
  • Socially Awkward (Don’t talk to me) 15-20
  • Binge Listener (Why read when someone can do it for you) 20-30
  • My Precious (I had my earbuds surgically implanted) 30+
  • Marathoner (Look Ma No Hands) 50+
  • Over-Achiever (Power Listener) 75+
  • The 100 Club (Audiobook Addict) 100+
  • I Can’t Hear You (earbuds always in) 125-150
  • Audibly Addicted (listening to all the books 24/7) 150+

Mini- Audiobook Challenge News!!

June is Audiobook Month, and we’ll have a special mini-challenge just for the month. Anyone can sign up. You’ll have chances to win audiobooks for finishing an audio series (3 audiobooks), tackling audiobooks from your TBR pile or listening to 3 audiobooks from your library. Look for details in May!

    Also I love your theme. I just bought the book blogger plugin from noze graze at the end of the year. Although I have a Divi membership, I think I want one of her themes as well.

    I just signed up. I usually listen only when driving so probably 5 audiobooks a year, but this year, I’m going to challenge myself to listen to at home. I think I can manage 15-20. I always do a reading challenge on Goodreads. I think this will be fun. Thanks

    I gave audiobooks a try a few months ago and decided to try a reading journal so that I keep reading / listening (spent the past few years only reading textbooks and scholarly journals, so I want to have For Fun books now lol). I have ~1.5hr each way commutes during the semesters… so I’m starting with Marathoner but giving myself space in the journal spread for more 🤞🏼

          THE URL would be a page where you track how many audiobooks you finished. For example, you could use Goodreads and create a bookshelf called 2024 Audiobook Challenge. You would link that URL. Or you could link a social media account with a pinned post of audiobooks read.

    I joined last year but lost momentum and never followed through. I am hoping to do better this year. I hope to match either marathoner or over-achiever. I also have a shelf on The StoryGraph. I like the visual aspects so much, but some things are more difficult.

    I was able to do 100 this year so I’m pretty sure that I’ll be able to do at least that in 2024. Maybe I’ll even try for the I Can’t Hear You level.
