Coffee Pot Reviews

Welcome to Coffee Pot Reviews! These are short and sweet reviews done in the length of time it takes my coffee pot to brew! I am loving the New Adult genre and contemporary romances. I encourage all of you to try new genres and step out of your comfort zone. Years ago I hated straight up contemporaries and now I am gobbling them up like their crack!New Adult novels contain mature content and are intended for those 18 and older..you have been warned!

Virginity.Bliss Edwards is about to graduate from college and still has hers. Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, she decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible-- a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if that weren't embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theatre professor. She'd left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.

The hilariously awkward synopsis drew me to Losing It but it was the swoon-worthy, impossibly cute, British speaking, smexy professor Garrick that kept me turning the pages at a dizzying pace. I laughed at the impossibly funny excuses Bliss used to cover up her twenty-two-year-old virginity. The awkwardness, sexual tension and attraction this couple shared was believable and I loved watching the romance unfold. The characters were well fleshed out and I got a strong sense of who they were. I am looking forward to more of Carmack’s hot romances. While the sex scenes were not overly detailed, the tension and build up were delightful making this read deliciously hot!

Before Sienna was devoured, before Lucas was consumed, they were all over each other . . .  Lucas Wolfe is used to getting what he wants—from everyone but one person, that is—so when he meets the wardrobe assistant hired to work his band’s newest video, he’s got to have her. From the moment Sienna first obediently whispers “Yes, Mr. Wolfe”, he knows she’s perfect for him.  Three days.  And he’ll have her stripped down and bound to his bed. Set two years before the events of DEVOURED, ALL OVER YOU is the story of Sienna and Lucas’s first encounter

This smexy, hot little read pushed me way out of my genre comfort zone and took me gently into the world of BDMS…which by the way I had to Google and boy did I not know or understand a lot about it. I loved this novel! I have never been a fan of tats but I found myself swooning over rock star Lucas. Despite the tough, domineering exterior, there is a gentler, softer side to him. I really cannot wait to read his novella All Over You, Devoured 0.5 told from his POV. I liked Sienna and found the plot to be interesting. I easily consumed this in an afternoon and think fans of Beautiful Disaster will love this one! I am looking forward to seeing how things work out for the couple. While this didn’t end on a cliffhanger, several threads have me excited to read the outcome in Consumed, Devoured #2.

Holy Hot Coffee Cupcakes..have you ever met someone who just oozes sexuality? Lucas reeks of it. Women are falling all over him from the pheromones. Add the tats, the smexy singing voice, and rocker attire and he is the total package. This tale shows us what happens when Sienna and Lucas met, two years before Devoured and I loved it. From Devoured we learned Lucas has major relationship issues and a serious problem with his ex. She is keeping him from getting to close to anyone. We start to understand his need to dominate and have control..and ooh-la-la you would have to scrape me off the floor because I would simply melt beneath his gaze. This was short but well worth the look back and was again told in alternating points of views. I recommend reading this after Devoured.

I LOOOVE your reviews!!! This is like new adult deliciousness. And I’m dying to read all of these books! You make them sound fabulous! I like how you mentioned that Devoured would be great for fans of Beautiful Disaster because I LOVED that book.

New adult books do not necessarily equal sex. New adult is supposed to bridge the gap between teenage years and adult years (think college). So yes, sex does tend to be more prominent and descriptive, but it’s also about a different stage of life, different decisions, different obstacles, sex, alcohol use, partying, etc.
