The Great Zoo of China is an intense thriller with over the top scenes and high body count. It was in a word, awesome. Fans of thrillers and science fiction who can overlook the improbability of it all will love the action, characters and creepy intelligence of the spectacular creatures Reilly introduces.

The Peripheral by William Gibson

William Gibson was an author on my wish list so when an opportunity arose to review his newest science fiction thriller on audio narrated by Lorelei King, I jumped at the chance. The Peripheral is a fascinating speculative fiction set in two worlds in the future that interact over an event. Oddly realistic and filled with gadgets and gizmos it reads like a thriller.

The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey made my top ten list in 2013, so I was eager to begin The Infinite Sea, the second book in the trilogy. Aliens, human survival and a small group of characters told in multiple perspectives delivers us back into this war torn world. While I think the book suffered middle book syndrome I closed the book impressed by Yancey and the world that holds me captive.

Symbiont by Mira Grant

I was very fortunate to receive an advanced finished copy of Symbiont by Mira Grant. It is the second book in her Parasitology series that started as a duology and is now a trilogy!! After the release of Parasite, Grant’s fans demanded more. Fans wanted more details, fleshed-out characters and world building. Grant obliged and I am ever so grateful. Symbiont changed my perception, raised questions, and had me holding my breath as we plunged deeper into this apocalyptic nightmare.
