I am not Russian, and I have never been to Russia, but I absolutely love books set in any era of Russia. And because of that, I have immensely enjoyed the Katerina Trilogy by Robin Bridges. The Morning Star the third and finally book in this non-stop action tale of Katerina Alexandrovna, Duchess of Oldenburg, necromancer who longs to be a doctor in a world of men. Bridges delivered a tale, froth with danger, and weaved in a sweet romance. Three word review: captivating, suspenseful, and heartwarming.
Review: Imaginable by J. Meyers
Last year I read and enjoyed Intangible the first book in J. Meyers Intangible series and I found it to be a refreshing tale filled with Fae, prophecy, vampires and danger, so I was excited to dive into Imaginable book two of the series. Imaginable quickly drops us back into this exciting world as our protagonists confront danger and move towards stopping the prophecy. Three word review: captivating, magical and action-packed.
Star Cursed by Jessica Spotswood
After reading Born Wicked the first book in the Cahill Witch Chronicles I was anxious to dive back into this world. I never imagined that Spotswood could make the world anymore sinister but in Star Cursed she did just that! I slipped right back into this world and once again found myself captivated by the prophecy, characters and dark oppressive world. I literally consumed this and didn’t want the tale to end. Three word review: captivating, suspenseful, emotional.
Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood
Born Wicked with its beautiful cover sat in my TBR pile for way too long but I am glad that I finally immersed myself into the dark world of the Cahill Witch series. Jessica Spotswood created a dangerous world for witches and woman. She introduces us to three eccentric sisters who are all witches. I quickly consumed this tale in a single day and cannot wait to continue the story. Three word review: suspenseful, dark and captivating.
The Night Is Watching by Heather Graham
The Night is Watchingis the ninth book in the Krewe of Hunters, but each of them can be read as a standalone. Each book in the series deals with a new case for the special paranormal unit of the FBI and focuses on one of member of their unit and their romance. In this tale the past and present intertwine as dead bodies from the past and present begin to appear. I quickly became swept up in the mystery. Three word review: ghost-town, suspense, legends.
