The Undead is a hilariously funny, zombie infested novel with a mismatched group of teens that will have you laughing as they scramble to save themselves when a school ski trip turns into a nightmare. I laughed and groaned at this silly read.
This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers
I have not read any of Courtney Summers’ previous novels but after devouring, This is Not A Test, I certainly plan too. This YA horror takes us on a riveting journey as a zombie outbreak occurs. She shares with us the tale of six students who seek shelter in their high school. Its the Breakfast Club meets Zombie apocalypse and I totally loved it.
The New Death and others by James Hutchings
The New Death and others is an interesting collection of short stories and poems. As with any collection of stories, I liked some of them, hated a few and others were just OK for me. Two memorable ones were “How the Isle of Cats Got Its Name” and “Weary Love”
The Passage by Justin Cronin
The Passage has to be one of the most beautiful, horrifying, page turning, heart stopping books I have ever had the pleasure to read. It brings to mind Stephen King’s The Stand. Cronin’s writing is exquisite. I found myself unable to put this post-apocalyptic book down. It is an epic novel of human endurance, when faced with a catastrophe that will forever change mankind.
