The Watchmaker’s Heart by Juli D. Revezzo delivered a historical romance with steampunk elements and a nice bit of suspenseful mystery. Penelope “Phoebe” Lockswell is a bit of a tinkerer and has created a somewhat scandalous diffuser. I enjoyed this feisty heroine, and Revezzo quickly pulled me into this tale.
A Treacherous Curse by Deanna Raybourn is the third novel in the Veronica Speedwell series. Set in London, 1888 it shares Victorian mysteries and the friendship and antics of Veronica, the bastard daughter of the Prince of Wales and the troubled Stoker Revelstoke Templeton-Vane. In this installment, Stoker’s former best friend is missing as well as an Egyptian artifact.

THE STRANGE CASE OF THE ALCHEMIST’S DAUGHTER written by Theodora Goss and narrated by Kate Reading was an addictive story featuring the daughters of some of Literature’s most famous science fiction and horror characters. Mystery, humor, and twists aplenty make this a worthy listen.
