A Talent for Trickery by Alissa Johnson is the first book in her historical romantic suspense series The Thief-Takers. I was excited to read this tale and I am happy to report it delivered. A Talent for Trickery was suspenseful and filled with delicious banter, danger and a murder mystery thriller that kept me reading late into the night.

I went into this story blind and was delighted to discover Playing with Fire takes place in present day, but also shares life in Venice, Italy during World War II. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff is a young adult science fiction thriller that is perfect for fall and will have you holding your breath. Completely riveting I consumed this 600-page tome in less than two days.
