Dark Companion by Marta Acosta caught my attention on Tor’s website and I knew I had to review it. I am pleased to tell you that this creepy, dark and unique novel delivered. It has mystery, romance, interesting characters and a plot filled with twists.
Sweet Savage Blood by Carolina Courtland
Sweet Savage Blood by Carolina Courtland is the first of three novels. This is an epic YA romance that spans nearly two hundred years. It is also the story of a vampire hunter, a witch and reincarnation. I quickly consumed this novel in a single evening and look forward to continuing this saga.
The Ravenous Dead by Natasha Hoar
The Ravenous Dead is the second novella in the Lost Souls series by Natasha Hoar. This is a fantastic urban fantasy series featuring protagonist Rachel Miller. This tale finds Rachel dealing with a reaper. It delivered suspense, mystery, paranormal creatures and kick-ass action. I quickly consumed this and was left wanting more!
Slow Summer Kisses by Shannon Stacey
Slow Summer Kisses by Shannon Stacey was a heart-warming romance. While this is a novella, the story felt complete and I enjoyed every minute of it. I quickly became wrapped up in this tale and consumed it in one sitting.
Embers by Laura Bickle
Embers, is the first novel in the urban fantasy series Anya Kalinczyk by Laura Bickle. The setting is Detroit and focuses on Anya Kalinczyk an arson investigator and physic medium known as a Lantern. She has the ability to see ghosts and crosses entities over who should not be here. This was an intense read as Anya with the help of her friends tries to stop an arsonist. I quickly consumed this novel and will be continuing the series.
