Every once in a while I have a hankering for a cowboy, and since my husband refuses to don a cowboy hat and boots, I turn to Linda Lael Miller. One of my favorite series by her is the McKettrick’s series and boy howdy! Set in 1914 in Texas, A Lawman’s Christmas is the perfect short novel for a cold winter eve. This tale is all about Clay McKettrick the son of Chloe and Jeb. I consumed this in a single afternoon and it certainly got me in the holiday spirit
Coffee Pot Reviews: Romancing the Holiday by Jaci Burton, HelenKay Dimon, Christi Barth
Welcome to Coffee Pot Reviews! These are short and sweet reviews done in the length of time it takes my coffee pot to brew! Romancing the Holiday is a wonderful book that contains three delightful holiday stories about Love. While two of them are from series, let me assure you this did not affect my enjoyment. Below you will find my review of each of those tales.
Coffee Pot Reviews: Magic Unchained & Spellfire by Jessica Andersen
Welcome to Coffee Pot Reviews! These are short and sweet reviews done in the length of time it takes my coffee pot to brew! I have been reading Jessica Andersen’s Nightkeeper series since they began in 2008. I love this paranormal tale, with it’s blend of mythology and magic. It is the story of a group of warriors charged with stopping a Mayan prophecy and saving mankind before the demons of the underworld rise up and destroy all on December 21, 2012. Each tells the story of one couple and further advances the overall plot to save mankind.
Big Sky River by Linda Lael Miller
I am in love with the townsfolk of Parable Montana. Big Sky River is book three in Linda Lael Miller’s Swoon-Worthy Cowboy series and yea-ha it was good to return. Each can be read as a standalone, but if you are like me and want to know all of the side characters and their stories go for book one first. This book focuses on Sheriff Boone Taylor and his city-born neighbor Tara Kendall. Since the first novel Big Sky Country these two have butted heads and it was lovely reading their story. As always once I started reading, I could not put it down and consumed this in a few hours.
What Happens At Christmas by Victoria Alexander
I love holiday themed books, and this is the first I have read by Victoria Alexander, but I can assure you it will not be my last. What Happens At Christmas was a deliciously, hysterical, heart-warming tale that quickly put me in the holiday mood. I adored the characters the author brought to life in 1886 London and would love to meet them all again.
