AN OFFER FROM A GENTLEMAN by Julia Quinn is the third novel in the delightful historical romance series, Bridgertons. Quinn has fun with this tale delivering a fairy tale retelling of the classic Cinderella complete with an evil stepmother. I delighted in the story even if miscommunication frustrated me.
Spellbook of the Lost and Found by Moïra Fowley-Doyle
SPELLBOOK OF THE LOST AND FOUND by Moïra Fowley-Doyle has been one of my most anticipated audiobooks. Last year I devoured the ACCIDENTAL SEASON and fell in love with this author’s voice, magical realism, and storytelling. SPELLBOOK OF THE LOST AND FOUND did not disappoint delivering magical realism, diverse characters and lyrical prose I quickly became caught up in the girl’s adventure.
Sweet Tea and Sympathy by Molly Harper
Molly Harper known for her delightful Naked Werewolf series brings us, SWEET TEA AND SYMPATHY the first novel in her new southern chick-lit romance. With character growth, engaging family members and a budding romance I quickly settled into this small town tale set along Lake Sackett in rural Georgia.
99 Red Balloons by Elisabeth Carpenter
I absolutely love when a story hooks you from the first few pages and 99 RED BALLOONS did just that. Elizabeth Carpenter weaves a tale involving two missing girls, one from the past and one from the present into a heart-pounding thriller all while she exposes cracks in the families foundations. Fast-paced and clever 99 BALLOONS is a tale you cannot set down.
