Burn Bright by Patricia Briggs

While I adore Mercy Thompson, the Alpha & Omega series is my favorite series by Briggs. Burn Bright by Patricia Briggs is the fifth book in the Alpha & Omega series and take place in the same world as the Mercy Thompson series.  Burn Bright packed a wallop and kept me on edge. I lost myself in the story and devoured it in one sitting.

The Purloined Poodle by Kevin Hearne

I adore Oberon the Irish Wolfhound who is Atticus O’Sullivan’s companion in the Iron Druid Chronicles.  The series mentions Oberon’s Meaty Mysteries and I knew I had to listen. The Purloined Poodle is the first and while it takes place in the world of the Iron Druids it is more of a mystery that Oberon solves with the assistance of Atticus. Suspenseful and hilarious this was splendid.

Zero Day A Novel by Ezekiel Boone

Zero Day by Ezekiel Boone is the final book in the Hatching series. The series has taken us through an apocalyptic disaster involving spiders. Told from multiple perspectives from around the world, we get the third-person POV accounts of man’s reactions and attempts to survive. While we didn’t get as much time with the eight-legged monsters, Boone delivered an intense climax.
