I have some exciting fun news for fans of Deborah Harkness, author of the All Souls Trilogy. On Tuesday, November 17th, Penguin is releasing a free, e-book only, richly illustrated real-time reading companion that brings to life the world created by Deborah Harkness in A Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night, retracing the events of these two bestselling novels with illuminating behind-the-scenes details and real-life events that figure into the books. Also check out Deborah’s next novel, The Serpent’s Mirror, coming in 2017.
Host by Robin Cook
I love reading a good medical thriller and was excited to dive into Host by Robin Cook. While the tale was engaging and the investigation into what was happening at South Carolina’s Mason-Dixon Hospital kept me flipping the pages, I had issues with a few things.
Merry Mary by Ashley Farley
Merry Mary by Ashley Farley is a heart-warming, pull at your heartstrings novella and perfect for the holiday season. Farley beautifully captured the story of Scottie Darden, a motherless woman who on a cold winter morning makes a discovery that changes her life in an instant. Things could go terribly wrong and the author takes us through the events that unfold making us connect.
One King’s Way by Samantha Young
One King’s Way by Samantha Young is a novella that takes us back to the bar where the series On Dublin Street began and shares with us the romances of bartender Craig Lanaghan. Some of you may remember Craig and his outrageous flirting and smoking hot good looks. While this is #6.5 in the On Dublin Street series, this novella will work as a standalone.
Pirateship Down: Stories from the World of the Sentinels of New Orleans by Suzanne Johnson
I enjoy the urban fantasy series the Sentinels of New Orléans by Suzanne Johnson and was excited by the prospect of short, standalone tales from this world. Pirateship Down is a great introduction to this urban fantasy and the perfect fix for fans anxiously awaiting the release of Pirate’s Alley.
