The word of the week is snow…haha. A snowstorm arrived on Monday and the kids had no school on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday a snowstorm blew in right before rush hour and quickly dropped a few inches, then Thursday temperatures become dangerously frigid & remain so. Friday was another snow day for the kids as we got another blast of the white stuff. I woke up with a sore throat and stuffy nose on Friday, and by that evening, I was a hot mess. Fever, chills, stuffy nose, headache and body rattling cough. No Covid, so probably some type of virus or flu. I have been sleeping when it lets me. Stay Caffeinated.

hoping you feel better soon… and i am intrigued by Mislaid in Parts Half-Known simply because of the title so will look for it..

I Hope you feel better quickly. We’ve had lots of people with flu and colds, some Covid.
I’ll be interested in how you like the new Kim Harrison series. Happy Reading!

  3. Christy (LoveofBooks)

Hello, dear. I deleted all of my social media accounts and now I miss you guys. 😆 Hope you feel better.

Oh I’m so sorry you aren’t feeling well. The new strains of COVID (according to a couple epidemiologist newsletters I read) don’t test positive until 3-5 days into symptoms. And COVID is surging now even though no one is talking about it. Take care of yourself.

Oh, I also wanted to share this, here is my miracle homemade cough syrup.
    It really works.
Mix well each time you drink it – a tea spoon as needed:

    cough syrup:
    2 TB apple vinegar
    2 TB honey
    2 TB water
    1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
    1/2 tsp ginger
    1/8 tsp cloves

wow, I hope the bug leaves you quickly. I have some type (just nose) for 17 days. Nose almost fine, but still beat up. This thing drags on and on. A relative has had this thing for 6 weeks. Take care, drink a lot – though caffeine is not recommended!

  7. LORI CASWELL

Snow and cold here too. I was sick last week with a cold that took me down totally for 48 hours. Nyquil and Dayquil saved me. I hope you feel better soon.

  8. Carla

Oh dear, I hope you feel better soon, Kimberly. I’m sure the kids are loving the extra time off school, maybe not grandma though. Take care and try to stay warm.

I’m so sorry you’re sick, and I hope you feel better soon. I love looking at snow pictures online, but I’m not too fond of snow in person anymore. I loved it when I was a kid, though. It’s supposed to drop to the teens here in the Panhandle of Florida this coming week, and I’m tempted to see my oldest daughter during that time since her lowest temps will be in the 60s. She’s loving the weather where she is and I don’t blame her.

I am so sorry you are feeling sick Kimberly! Several friends in the US seem to have caught something nasty making them cough a lot! Not COVID though. Get better soon! Hugs!

YAY for some snow!! haha I am sick too, been this way since Christmas. Its mostly just stuffy sinuses—not horrible but just enough to be an annoyance. Hope you feel better soon!

  12. Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)

Yeah, we had Tuesday and Wednesday off school. Then went back on Thursday, and had Friday cancelled when I was already on my way to work! We’re supposed to have those freezing temps here till Tuesday! So with MLK day already off, I’m guessing maybe we’ll have Tuesday this week off too. Hope you are able to get to feeling better quickly! It’s bad enough having it be this cold, but not to be sick too!

Urg! I’m really glad that the flurries of snow we’ve had so far simply haven’t settled. Right now, it’s too warm to snow and I’m crossing my fingers and holding my thumbs that it stays that way. I hope you feel better soon, Kimberly!

  14. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Wow! That is a lot of snow! I suppose our word of the week would just be cold. We had frigid temperatures but if it did snow it was just some flurries. Nothing ever really stuck to the ground. Last night we got into subzero temps and we’ve had lots of windy days where the wind kept me up at night. Hope you feel better soon!

Nice new reads! I’m thinking of requesting Kim Harrison’s new book! I love her stuff and am excited for a new series from her! Hope you enjoy all of your lovely new reads!

    Here’s my StS

Sounds like you got a bunch of snow this week. Sorry to hear you caught a flu or virus, I hope you feel better soon!

  16. Greg

Oh no- hope you feel better! Sounds like a snowy mess. We just started getting it yesterday and now snow is forecasted all week. Ugh. stay warm!

  17. Haze @ The Book Haze

We’ve had a lot of snow here too and a sudden temperature drop, it’s -36 Celsius, about -33 Fahrenheit. I had plans this weekend, but no way am I going out in this weather. Sorry you got sick, I hope you feel better soon!

  18. Meezan

There are a lot of different illnesses going around right now. I hope you feel better very soon and you have a better a week ahead. 🙂

My aunt felt unwell and kept testing negative for covid. She finally went to her doctor and it was the flu. He fussed at her a little for waiting so long to see him because it was too late for Tamiflu. She’s at increased risk because of other health issues but it sounds like she’s going to have to ride it out the best she can.

All the snow you had was rain here and I’m glad. I hope you feel better and your weather warms up soon!
