It’s time once again for Nonna’s Corner where I shared books I’ve read with my grandchildren affectionately referred to as the “Royals” here at Caffeinated. Today we have the cutest book about bath time. How Do You Take a Bath? by Kate McMullan, illustrated by Sydney Hanson. Princess Sophia laughed and cooed as we read this charming little tale. Grab a pumpkin latte and see why you need to add this to your little one’s bookshelf.

Perfect for fans of Five Little Monkeys Jump in the Bath, this fun and educational picture book brings together adorable baby animals and bathtime.
How do YOU take a bath?
Does your mama comb your fur?
Do you shake off all your dirt?
Do you splash and flap and quack?
Do the birdies peck your back?
No!Follow elephants, pigs, monkeys, hippos, and more in this charming rhyming picture book from veteran author Kate McMullan. How does a pig take a bath? It sinks in the mud! What about a chicken? It thrashes about in dust! And a cat? Why, it licks itself clean, of course! Sydney Hanson's adorable illustrations toggle neatly between animals in nature grooming themselves and humorous depictions of children attempting the animals' bathing tactics. By the end of the book, the child finally makes his way to the bathtub, no mud baths or lick baths about it!
How Do You Take a Bath? by Kate McMullan is such a fun book from it’s colorful, adorable illustrations to it’s silly questions about bath time. The author shows how animals bath from wallowing in mud to kicking up dirt then she asks you if you spit on your fingers (like the bat) or bath in the mud. Sydney Hanson’s illustrations are simply adorable. The little hippo and fat little piglets will make you smile. Princess Sophia wanted to hug them all. Prince Clayton loved the different animals and I saw able to reinforce what each animal was. While both children are shy of the target age range we all found reasons to enjoy this story. Their laughter and responses to the silly questions had us all giggling.
I love books that teach while entertaining and this story hit all the marks.

Ha! That image of the girl putting snow on her face is hilarious. Super cute picture book! I didn’t realize that’s how chickens clean themselves… Reminds me of this rodent looking thing who loves to be covered in sand.

LOL, we learn something new every day!

I remember what it was! It’s a chinchilla.

I love when the kids pick a book and they would read it night after night and if it was kind of short we would keep reading it till they were too tired to read it again. Love this cover.

This sounds adorable! I’ll have to check it out for my grandkids. I have a 3-year-old grandson and a 6 month-old granddaughter. It’s so much fun to see them (more the 3 yr old at this point) get a kick out of crazy, fun stories. Great review, Kimberly. 🙂
