When Jacqueline E. Smith approached me for a review of her novel Cemetery Tours the first in her paranormal romance series Cemetery Tours, I was immediately intrigued by the synopsis. Ghosts, a haunting involving a menacing spirit and celebrity ghost hunter? A side dish of romance? Hello summer read! Cemetery Tours delivered suspense, giggles, mystery, heart and a sweet romance. Cemetery Tours is a perfect read for a rainy summer afternoon.
The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings
The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings is the first in the dystopian Murder Complex trilogy. Cummings blended science fiction and mystery into this futuristic Floridian thriller. This in Lindsay Cummings debut novel and I quickly devoured it.
Girl Missing by Tess Gerritsen
I discovered Tess Gerristen quite by accident while in the doctors’ office. There was a copy of the Surgeon, and I began reading. I then read all of her thrillers back to back. Her books were turned into a television series called Rizzoli & Isles. As much as I am a fan of her psychological suspense thrillers, I never ventured into her earlier works. I was surprised to learn she started with romantic suspense….
Skeleton’s Key by Stacy Green
In July, I reviewed Tin God the first book in Stacy Green’s Delta Crosswords romantic suspense series and enjoyed it. I was eager to begin Cage’s story in, Skeleton’s Key. While this is book two, each of the novels work as a standalone. Once again Green delivered a gripping murder mystery in the heart of Mississippi. A historic plantation, secret rooms, murder and a side dish of romance had me flipping the pages to uncover the truth. Mini review: fascinating, suspenseful. Small-town charm and a little romance made this an entertaining read.
Never Come Back by David Bell
Never Come Back by David Bell delivered a fascinating story with fleshed out characters that I could not put down. I consumed this in a single sitting, and it was a welcome addition to this author’s shelf. Murder, secrets, confessions, danger all ensue as Elizabeth searches for answers and uncovers truths about her mother. Three word review: suspenseful, mystery, and a real page-turner.
