I listened to Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt for two reasons. The first, it mentioned it was perfect for fans of A Man Called Ove, and the second reason was my curiosity about the octopus. This brilliant, moving debut hooked me as it connected lives and introduced me to an unforgettable character named Marcellus.

Gwendy’s Final Task by Stephen King & Richard Chizmar
It’s time for Gwendy to deal with the button box once and for all, but with her memory fading, can she do it? Narrated by Marin Ireland, Gwendy’s Final Task by Stephen King & Richard Chizmar was a chilling and addictive trip.
🎧 Wish You Were Here by Jodi Picoult
Netflix bought the movie adaptation rights to Wish You Were Here by Jodi Picoult and so I chose to listen to the audiobook narrated by Marin Ireland because we all know the book is better. Relevant, poignant and deeply moving story that takes place during the pandemic. Grab a cup of coffee and check out my thoughts.
Anxious People by Fredrik Backman
I went into Anxious People completely blind and wasn’t sure what to expect. Narrated by Marin Ireland, Backman delivered mystery, humor and a heartwarming tale about a group of people attending an open house.
The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman
After my disappointment with Practical Magic (yes the movie ruined the book) I was a little nervous going into The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman but here I found the magic I was hoping for. Narrated by Marin Ireland I fell in love with the Owens family.
Beartown by Fredrik Backman
Fredrik Backman takes us to a small rural town in Sweden known as Beartown. Here hockey is the heart of this isolated town. Where winning is everything. A place where when something dark happens involving the town’s star player their world divides. Powerful and poignant Backman weaved a tale that will take the reader through a gamut of emotions.
