Old Flames, is a suspenseful mystery. Yatscoff takes us into the life of a Canadian firefighter with a secret from his past. The tale has lots of twists and a reveal, that I didn’t see coming. Told from a male protagonist’s point of view, this novel offers a fresh perspective into firefighting, arson and revenge.
The Night Strangers by Chris Bohjalian
Night Strangers is a psychological thriller with paranormal elements. It will have you turning the pages to discover the secrets of a small town in New Hampshire. Bohjalian’s tale is reminiscent of Stephen King and the Stand. I chose to read this over Halloween weekend and it was quite a thrill. The ending to this novel will simply blow you away.
Unfinished Business by W. Soliman
Unfinished Business was an interesting mystery with a shocker ending. Fifteen years ago Kara Webb’s sister went missing and her family won’t talk about it. Her brother is now dead and it was ruled an accident. When going through his things she finds a recent picture of her brother and sister. She needs answers and seeks out the former detective who handled the case.
Waking Hours by Lis Wiehl
This is the first book I have read by author Lis Wiehl. She has written such books as “Face of Betrayal”, a New York Times Bestseller, and part of her Triple Threat mysteries. After reading Waking Hours, I will be picking up copies of her earlier work. I really enjoyed this suspenseful, paranormal mystery thriller. This is the first book in the East Salem Trilogy.
Before I Go To Sleep: A Novel by S.J. Watson
S. J. Watson’s debut novel is a stunning suspense thriller. I could not put this book down. Watson delivers a chilling tale where nothing is at it seems.
