Hero of My Heart was a delightfully fast paced romance with flawed, lovable characters that I easily connected with. Megan Frampton wove an engaging tale about the power of love, trust and redemption. I consumed this in a single sitting and found it to be the perfect read for a rainy evening.
Against the Odds by Kat Martin
Kat Martin always entertains me with her ex-military alpha males and the woman who finally win their playboy hearts. Against the Odds is the seventh book from the Raines of Wind Canyon series but don’t let that scare you as each works as a standalone. In this novel we get smexy Alex Justice story and a side story regarding his sister and a totally lovable carpenter. Filled with action, suspense and a hot sizzling romance with just enough heat I quickly consumed this.
On Dublin Street by Samantha Young
On Dublin Street was in my TBR pile for a good four months before I dug it out for the Take Control challenge in March and I am glad it is one of the books I selected. Young offers up complex characters, a fantastic setting and weaves it all together to create a romance that swept me away.
The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker
Last year I read a few articles about the most anticipated books for 2013 and debut authors to keep an eye on. The cover and title of The Golem and the Jinni immediately caught my eye. Once I read the synopsis and references to fans of Harkness’s Discovery of Witches and Morgenstern’s Night Circus I knew this book and I were destine to meet.
Everbound by Brodi Ashton
Everbound delivered everything I wanted and was an amazing middle book in the Everneath series. After the climatic ending of Everneath, I had a strong sense of where this story was heading and I wasn’t disappointed. Ashton effortlessly transported me into her world and from the very first page I found myself enthralled by Ashton’s take on mythology and Everneath. Brilliant middle book and Ashton has earned herself a place on my auto-buy list.
