The Winner Takes It All by Jennifer Dawson drew me in with its synopsis and cute cover. After requesting it, I realized this was book two in the Something New series. No worries folks this worked splendidly as a standalone. However, I feel the need to warn you; you will want to grab Take A Chance the first and will be patiently waiting for the third. Hot chemistry and a great dynamic group of friends and siblings made The Winner Takes It All a delicious afternoon delight.
Antebellum Awakening by Katie Cross
Antebellum Awakening is the second novel in Katie Cross’s Network Series. I am really enjoying this young adult paranormal fantasy filled with witches, dragons and determined protagonist. Katie Cross continues to flesh out the world and its characters. I quickly became caught up in the events unfolding in Chatham Castle from danger to political maneuvering.
Caffeinated Confessions – It’s that Time of Year When I am Drawn to…
I am an advertiser’s wet dream. Seriously, I am. Stick a wreath on a book, add some snow and be it murder and mayhem or sweet romance I want it.*grabby hands* I will one-click my way through all of those magical covers. I cannot help myself it puts me in the mood. Genre doesn’t matter, although I will confess romances are sort of magical in holiday themed books. My heart gets all gooey, and I weep. Gads! Does this madness happen to you?
The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey
Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey made my top ten list in 2013, so I was eager to begin The Infinite Sea, the second book in the trilogy. Aliens, human survival and a small group of characters told in multiple perspectives delivers us back into this war torn world. While I think the book suffered middle book syndrome I closed the book impressed by Yancey and the world that holds me captive.
The Wolf in Winter: A Charlie Parker Thriller by John Connolly
When I was offered an audio of Wolf in Winter by John Connolly, I found myself intrigued by the synopsis. I immediately wanted to know what was happening in Prosperous, Maine. I did not realize at the time that this was the twelfth book in the Charlie Parker thriller series. While I struggled here and there due to the series arc, the heart of the tale dealing with Prosperous was an odd curiosity that kept me intrigued.
