Audiobooks have become a HUGE part of my reading each year. In fact for 2018 I would say I am 68% Audiobooks out of 168 novels I’ve finished. My favorite genre for audio hands down is Urban Fantasy, followed my suspense thrillers, mysteries, horror and paranormal. I do dabble in romance and its subgenres and cozy mysteries are great fun on audio. I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite series since I began devouring audiobooks.
Seven Books That Gave Me A Book High…
Caffeinated Reviewer celebrated its seven year blogoversary this week, and for some stupid reason I thought it would be fun to share seven books that gave me a book high. You know that feeling you get when you slip into a book and reemerge in a euphoric state. It’a a feeling we all chase. Grab an iced mocha frappe and add these to your must read list.
Seven Years by Dannika Dark
Seven Years by Dannika Dark is the first audiobook in the Seven series. The series features seven full-length novels and a few novellas. I had the eBook on my Kindle, but this year I won the complete set of audiobooks. I knew my friends loved the series, but I had forgotten the details, and as I often do I started the audio without reading the synopsis. Don’t laugh but I had totally forgotten this was a paranormal romance series and flipped when I realized there were shifters! Yippie!!
Seventh Grave and No Body by Darynda Jones
I pre-ordered Seventh Grave and No Body the seventh book in the hilariously awesome Charley Davidson series and began reading it on release day. My intention as always was to savoir it. *hangs head* Yeah, as if. I came up for air at about 50%. My sides hurt from giggling and my nether parts from swooning over Reyes. I than decided a nap would allow me to savior it longer. *dreams of Reyes, yeah I can so handle that* Forty-five minutes later, I was back in the story and soon in tears because it was over. OVER. Now I have to wait until May 2015.*sobs* Oh, the cruelty of it all! Despite the frustration of having to wait for more answers, and more time with this motley crew of characters that I abso-friggin-loutely adored Seventh Grave and No Body was brilliant. Brilliant I tell you.
