This week, my husband celebrates his birthday. Baseball season is in full swing and Clayton had three games this week. Miss Hazel came and stayed with me for four days. We had a good time, and she cried when she had to go home. I am feeling the sting of the tariffs. The coffee we purchase was $12.94 in January and rose to $14.94 in late March- It is now $17.16. What have you noticed? Stay strong. Stay Caffeinated and spread kindness. May the 4th be with you!

I haven’t noticed price increases here, but I also tend to buy or charge what I need regardless of the cost…

Oof, those coffee prices are not pretty 😬. I hope your husband has a great birthday 🙂 That Soulgazer cover really caught my eye, I love the pose!

a happy birthday to your husband… and I wouldn’t mind exploring A Staircase in the Woods for sure! I have noticed a few changes (spikes, I mean) and oh well, hoping something changes for the better

I need to stock up on things, I am trying to be good about it and hoping for the best. I have a Grove account and a bunch of their prices went up recently… not sure if related but likely. 🙁

I have stocked up on coffee when it was on sale. So I have a little stockpile. I also stocked up on laundry detergent and have a solid 6 month supply of Tide. I checked on the cost of Neem Oil because I need to get some for this years garden and it is approx $3 more a bottle this year over last year. I’m going to buy a gallon instead of the spray bottles–since the gallon is only $5 more than 3 bottles and last year I went through 3 bottles. I’m glad I got a new bathing suit back in Jan and that we got a new washer/dryer/refrigerator at the beginning of 2024. I hope our cars hold up for at four more years. Ugh. Happy Birthday to your hubs!

Happy birthday to your husband! Sounds like you are having a wonderful time with your grandchildren, and they clearly love spending time with you.

We haven’t felt the tariff bite on coffee yet, but we will. my husband orders it from Amazon (because he can’t his favorite whole beans locally), and when he ordered in early April, the price hadn’t gone up yet. Since then, it has jumped nearly $3 bucks per package. I don’t drink coffee, but I’m sure I’m going to see similar increases in the price of tea, both black (decaf) and herbal. 🙁

Fun to have Hazel for a long visit and go to Clayton’s games. I had a hubby birthday weekend, too. I haven’t really noticed any big cost spikes around here after they were already up over the last few years. We’ll find a way when it does.

    Have a great week, Kimberly!

  8. Anne- Books of My Heart

It’s birthday week at Books of My Heart with Robin, Melanie and me have birthdays in the next 8 days. I noticed that a laundry product I use has doubled in price in the last month. I’m thinking by mid-month things will really start to be a problem.

  9. Jody

Happy birthday to hubby, and I wish Clayton the best of luck this season. Tariffs are starting to affect us all. It started slowly, but I am noticing it a lot more on my coffee and things I have on my subscribe and save on Amazon. Have a lovely week, Kimberly.

We’ve been trying to purchase things that will be affected by the tariffs before they go up. Coffee has been outrageous for a while! Along with eggs, cheese and most other things at the grocery store. So much for fixing that!

It’s so nice to feel loved! Sounds like you and Hazel have a special bond! Have a lovely week, Kimberly!

Tell Clayton good luck this season! Everything is more expensive including electricity, insurance, gas, and groceries. Felon47 is doing a bang up job! /sarcasm

Happy Birthday to your husband! And don’t get me started on the tariffs. I need a lot of cuss words to discuss it.

  13. Lisa R. Howeler

Happy birthday to your husband! Looks like you’ve been reading so many great books. I am terribly behind on my reading but, hey, at least I am reading.

  14. Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)

Looks like some good books! I’m needing a new couch and was going to wait, but I’ve see that the news about tariffs say by this summer the prices will be up so I might need to go ahead and give in and finance it on my Nebraska Furniture Mart card. If I can find one I like. I just hate that I love something in the store, even sit on it and try it out, but then when I get it actually in my house, it isn’t long before I see all the issues and it isn’t as comfortable as I thought.

Happy Birthday to your hubby! Prices have gone up so much over the past few years – I see it in my trips to Costco the most. Have a great week.

  16. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Oh nice! Glad the week went well for the most part. I’m not a coffee drinker myself, so I don’t know if I’ve noticed it elsewhere just yet. I know my car insurance went up last month but I wasn’t sure if that was at all connected or not.

Nice new reads! I forgot Devon was going back to the Hellbent books! I might have to check those out again. I know I read the OG ones however many years back it was! I still need to start her newer series too. So behind with all my OG authors too! Hope you enjoy all of the lovely new reads!

Happy birthday to your husband. Our groceries in general have gone up $20-$30 per week since January. It’s scary since I don’t think things will get better. Hopefully my garden does well this year.

  18. Lola

Happy birthday to your husband! I hope Clayton is enjoying his baseball. And how fun Hazel got to stay with you and had such a great time. Ouch those tariffs made things very pricey and such a big increase in a few months. Have a great week!

  19. Lori

Spending time with the grands is always fun but tiring😁 Prices are rising all around us. With no supplies coming in it is going to get worse. We are staying strong and have to band together in hopes that people in power come to their senses unlike the orange felon.

    Happy birthday to your husband.

I am most unhappy with how things are unfolding in our country! We could all use some changes.

    Enjoy your week!
