Wolftamer by Maggie Rapier delivers the conclusion of the romantic fantasy duology Magpie the Wolf. I loved book one, from the pirates to the magic, and was excited to dive in. While I struggled with the first half, the second half grabbed me as the danger increased. I closed the book with a smile and recommend this duology for lovers of fantasy and romance.
The Calamities by Chuck Wendig
I have been enjoying Chuck Wendig’s special brand of horror, (even if he forever ruined apples for me) and was excited to dive into The Calamities, book one of the Fiends. A dark fantasy horror with demons, greed, powerful families and vivid dreams that bring four characters together on a deadly quest. I read along as I listened to the audiobook with it’s all star cast of narrators.
Inkpot Gods by Seanan McGuire
Inkpot Gods by Seanan McGuire takes us back to the world of the Alchemical Journeys series. This is the fourth novel in this fantasy series that has held me captive from the dark alchemy to the Impossible City. An addictive installment with an ending that left me screaming for the next novel.
Only Spell Deep by Ava Morgyn
Narrated by Jennifer Pickens, Only Spell Deep by Ava Morgyn delivered a romantasy steeped in danger and ancient magic with a side of romance. An atmospheric tale that started and ended strong, with a middle that struggled.
Cheater Slicks by Hailey Edwards
Cheater Slicks by Hailey Edwards is the fourth audiobook in the Body Shop urban fantasy series. Narrated by Candace Joice, Matty has lost his soul, and Frankie returns to New Orleans to find answers in this intense installment that left me craving the next installment.
