With the change of season, my eye has been drawn towards mystery thrillers, and the audiobook of The Dead Husband Cookbook by Danielle Valentine caught my eye. This thriller, narrated by Lauryn Allman, drew me in with its atmospheric vibe and talk of food.
Vera Wong’s Guide to Snooping (on a Dead Man) by Jesse Q. Sutanto is the second audiobook in the Vera Wong series. She introduces new characters and brings back familiar ones as Vera helps a young woman find her missing friend. Suspense, humor, and found family delivered as narrator Eunice Wong brought the characters to life.
Baking It Merry by Samantha Chase offered a grumpy meets sunshine, enemies to lovers small-town romance filled with holiday baked goods and cheer. Narrated by Melanie Mendez, the story offered a delightful holiday escape despite some unneeded miscommunication.
I love the Below Stairs Mysteries from Jennifer Ashley, including the novellas. Mrs. Holloway’s Christmas Pudding is a holiday novella in which our cook Kat Holloway is blamed when a dinner guest mysteriously takes ill and she’s been tasked with creating the perfect Christmas feast. Can she clear her good name?
