Make You Remember by Macy Beckett

In Make You Remember the second book in the Dumont Bachelors series by Macy Beckett, we are back on the family’s riverboat The Belle of the Bayou. I love this contemporary romance series laced with a little paranormal woo-woo. Voodoo, hexes and heat combined with fleshed out characters and a small town feel made me smile.

The Swan & the Jackal by J.A. Redmerski

The series In the Company of Killers by J.A. Redmerski has continually blown me away. For lack of a better phrase or perhaps the most genuine assessment, “ this series is a total mind-f@ck.” Redmerski brings her dark, sadistic characters to life making you love them even as you cringe. The Swan & the Jackal is the third story and brings us Fredrick Gustvsson’s story. At its heart, it is the love story of Fredrick and Seraphina. Suspicion by Joseph Finder

Suspicion by Joseph Finder is an intense thriller where a father down on his luck borrows money from the father of his daughter’s best friend and ends up in a cat and mouse game that could cost him his life. While not without flaws, Suspicion was a fast-paced tale that kept me flipping the pages.

Sky Pirates by Liesel Schwarz

I was a little nervous starting Sky Pirates the third book in Liesel Schwarz’s Chronicles of Light and Shadow. The second book, A Clockwork Heart, left me frustrated, but wow Sky Pirates brought back all of the elements I loved in A Conspiracy of Alchemists. Action packed, with lovable characters this steampunk has us traveling the world, and engaging in battles. The heroine Elle Chance is fantastic. She is kick-ass and determined. I don’t recommend crossing her.

Mitosis by Brandon Sanderson

Mitosis is a mini-story set between Steelheart and Firelight books in the Reckoners series by Brandon Sanderson. MacLeod Andrews narrate the audio and he nailed David. While the story is only one hour and three minutes long it has all the things I love about this series. Mitosis while small delivered an evil Epic, news about Newscago and plenty of action.
