Nothing happening in the news has been on my bingo card this year. Honestly, you can’t even make this crap up. Our weather was a mix of rain and warmer temperatures, followed by a cold front just in time for the weekend. On Thursday, I went to Platte River State Park with Sophia and her fifth-grade classmates. The weather was perfect in the mid-80s with a slight breeze. We both needed a nap after spending the day exploring, throwing knives, using sling-shots and bow-fishing. On Saturday we picked up my new prescription glasses, and it’s nice to see everything all crisp again. Stay caffeinated & spread kindness.

For reasons I don’t understand the temperatures here are back in the 60s. I am not happy! The field trip sounds really fun. Yay for new glasses! I’m a contact wearer (my vision is really terrible – like -8 prescription) and got glasses to wear at night sometimes and I have been loving having the option. Have a great week!
Carla@CarlaLovesToRead
Yay for new glasses! Our weather has been up and down her as well. Last week, we had two days in the 80s and today there were some snow flurries. I love when I get to go on fieldtrips with my grandkid’s classes. It sounds like you had fun. Have a wonderful week, Kimberly.
Mary Kirkland
That sounds like a fun outing.
Anne - Books of My Heart
It’s a dystopian dumpster fire out there. It’s bad enough with so many in the regime incompetent. I also got Falling Into You.
Melissa @ That Library Girl
The weather has been crazy here too. I had my AC on the other day as it was like a sunny 75 degrees outside. Yesterday, I had to turn the heat back on because it was a cloudy 44 degrees out. WHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYY
Sophie
I feel you about the news Kimberly! It’s totally crazy! You can only enjoy every day because we don’t know what will happen!
Olivia
Sounds like you and Sophia had a great day on the field trip.
From a friend: Is the Strait of Hormuz opened or closed? Neither! It’s Schroedinger’s Strait. It made me laugh at the crap.
Lisa R. Howeler
sounds like you had a nice time with Sophia and it was a perfect day for it! Hope your weather isn’t too weird this week. I know ours is!

I hear ya on the news. Like, wtaf?! I seriously don’t like this timeline we’re living. That field trip sounds so much fun! We’ve had a hot and busy week. Nowhere near as fun. lol
Shelleyrae @ Book’d Out
I’m not sure I’d be so willing to spend the day with a bunch of ten year olds who have knives and slingshots. I’m glad you had fun.
Wishing you a happy reading week
Sarah @ Brainfluff
Glad the field trip with Sophia was so enjoyable – 80s sound lovely! And as for the news… I keep looking at the grotesque nonsense going on and wonder if I’m caught in the middle of a dark satire! Have a good week and great books, Kimberly:).
Rachel @Waves of Fiction
Yep, the news as well as the weather has been all kinds of crazy! Sounds like you had a nice field trip with Sophia! Have a wonderful week, Kimberly!
Sophia Rose
What a beautiful day for your field trip to the park. We had rain everyday, but today is gorgeous and sunny. 🙂
Have a good week, Kimberly!
Lisa Mandina (Lisa Loves Literature)
I have to laugh at your first two sentences because my friend here at the conference with me just said basically the same thing about you can’t make this crap up! Ridiculous. Other than that, it sounds like it was a pretty nice week for you.
Bree @ Bibliophilebree
Hope you have a great week!
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Sounds like a nice week! And yay for new glasses. I’ve been enjoying my transition lenses lately, but starting to think I might be better off with the kind that can clip onto regular glasses. Been seeing lots of those lately where you can change colors of the frames and then there are the sunglasses addition. Sometimes the time it takes for my transitions to go back to normal when I am inside takes a little too long. But oh well. Lol.
Nice new read! That’s a new to me one! I hope you enjoy it once you get to read it!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

It sounds like a lovely field trip. I thoroughly enjoyed Mad Mabel and hope that you did too. Have a great week.

The state park has some wonderful activities. I’d need a nap after that, too!
Lola
Your visit to Platte River State Park with Sophia and her fifth-grade classmates sounds like it was fun. And that’s nice you got your new glasses! Have a good week!
Lori/Dollycas
I agree each day in this administration brings a new low for our country.
We had bad weather all week too. Rain, wind, hail, and tornados. Warm weather will return for a couple of days mid week with cold, winds and rain for next weekend. Well, at least it’s not snow.
Have a great week. Stay warm, dry, and caffeinated 😁
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
So glad you had a good time with Sofia’s class! And that you got your new glasses and can finally see clearly again.
No, nothing in the news was on my bingo card, either. How is it still only April?
Gail Is This Mutton
The exploring and knife throwing day sounds fun! Thanks for the link-up. Have a good week
Suzanne
It’s sounds like so much fun being with your daughters classmates! I remember I always volunteered my mom to be a chaperone for class trips and it was a blast! Have a great week!
Yvonne @ Socrates Book Reviews
Our weather has been similar. Sometimes rain, sometimes it’s warmer. Agree about the news stuff. It’s been crazy.
Hope you have a great week!

The day at Platte River State Park sounds FUN and I’m glad you got your new glasses and can see good again. All I can do is shake my head every time the latest headline pops up. What is even happening????
