For the month of August, I read/listened to 18 books. I’ve met my Goodreads goal 158/150 and am working on my Audiobook Challenge 106/150. It was one hell of a week. I was recovering from my head cold from our vacation, and just mostly felt drained. I actually thought I was on the mend. But then I awoke on Tuesday with a sore throat. On Wednesday my throat was visibly enlarged and looked like I had swallowed a golf ball. Swallowing hurt, so off to the doctor I went. A scan with contrast revealed a large cyst on my Thyroid. They started me on antibiotics because it was painful (a sign of infection), and now I have an appointment to see an ENT. Grr. Stay Caffeinated and spread kindness.

Oh no! I hope the antibiotics make you more comfortable but how frustrating. I hope you get lots of rest and have a productive appointment with the ENT. Have a great week!

  2. Jinjer

Man!!! You have the worst luck with your health of anyone I know! So sorry about this latest problem. Must be really frustrating! I hope the ENT can fix you right up! You are doing great with all your reading goals!

  3. Sophie

Oh gosh Kimberly I am so sorry ! I hope your appointment with the doctor will give you good news. Sending hugs!

So sorry to hear about the cyst on your thyroid – it sounds really painful – and I hope the antibiotics do the trick and you are soon on the road to recovery! I love the look of the book by Susie Dent – she used to feature on Countdown in the Dictionary Corner so it makes sense that she would write a book full of wordplay. You are certainly on track to hit your reading challenge targets this year – how impressive! I hope the coming week is a kind one, Kimberly.

Oh no! I hope you get relief soon. {{{posivibes}}} Anna just tested positive for Covid. 🙁 I cannot get sick this week. I have to pack all this shit up for renovations starting the 15th. Eeeee!

Congrats on reaching your goal! I’m way behind.

  6. Becki

Wow! That’s a lot of reading accomplished while being so uncomfortable. Hope the books were a good distraction. And hope you’re healing quickly and completely.

  7. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Oh no! It’s always dreadful to get a head cold during summer I feel like but all that on top of it is just the icing on the cake. I hope you feel better soon!

Nice new reads! These are all new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
